Why can Food tracking be beneficial?

Updated: Nov 25, 2023

Do you know how much you eat? The amounts of Protein, Carbohydrates and fats in your diet?

Do you struggle to make any progress with losing body-fat or adding lean muscle?

Have you thought about the fact that it may be because of your nutrition not being on point?

Here’s the thing, if you are trying to lose body fat but are over-consuming on your calories, you will stay exactly where you are, or gain even more fat. If you are trying to build muscle but barely eat anything, well then you are wasting your time in the gym!

Tracking calories and macronutrients

It’s actually straight forward. Want to lose fat? Then create a calorie deficit and be patient. Want to add muscle to your physique? Then you should at least eat at maintenance level. Now this goes even further. If you are eating at a calorie deficit but your protein is very low, you may lose more of your lean muscle while in the deficit and that’s why knowing the amounts of protein intake is so important.

The same with building muscle, you need enough protein! Carbohydrates you need to push yourself harder in the gym and fats for a healthy hormonal system and many other functions in your body.

Tracking your food, may seem difficult or time-consuming for many. But in reality, it’s like brushing your teeth. You do that every day without thinking: “This is so time-consuming”. The same with tracking. It’s easy and becomes a habit. When you know what you are consuming, the amounts of protein, carbohydrates, fats and total calorie amount, you will be able to make adjustments more easily and in turn keep progressing!

You cannot make changes, if you have nothing to work with!
